Our goal at Apogee Tahoe is to focus on the basic principles of being a well rounded, respectful, productive member of society. We promote self-led learning as long as its productive and intentional, we encourage basic core values (loyalty, integrity, politeness, honesty, bravery, compassion & honor) to help build a healthy studio and guide the learners to to be the best versions of themselves. Family support is a non-negotiable. Families must be intentional in their decisions at home, helping to implement the same core values.
Students learn how to think like an entrepreneur by building their small businesses and seeing first-hand the true benefits hard work, dedication, and execution. This enables them to be well-equipped for the workforce or even establishing a true business of their own. Learners will integrate into the community as interns when they get closer to middle school years.
Our job at Apogee is to teach learners how to think for themselves rather than rely on us to think for them. By utilizing the Socratic method, learners must listen and engage in asking questions on different ideas big and small, as they create a back and forth with fellow learners discussing real life situations.
Apogee Tahoe will focus on the importance of health, wellness and nutrition by encouraging learners to play outdoors and participate in the outdoor explorations. The project based learning designs incorporate healthy snack preparation, learning about where food comes from and why it is important to make healthy choices. They also include a lot of activities where learners are outside doing various experiments or challenges.
Apogee is seeking partnerships with local coaches, yoga instructors, or college students majoring in health/wellness, etc. to add to our 2024/25 schedule. If you are interested, please email ashley@actontahoe.org
Parents will have access to some of the best mentors in the world through the Apogee Man and Apogee Woman coaching programs. This is optional, but highly encouraged. Click the links below for more info.
