Montessori studio learners will embrace Montessori work and Play to learn real-life skills and develop the independence, focus, and kindness needed to enter the Elementary Studio — each prepared to discover a calling that will change the world.
In addition to Montessori work, learners will be introduced to project based learning, they will explore the Tahoe outdoors, go on field trips, and do a ton of fun crafts and activities year-round.
The Montessori Studio will engage in simple, hands on projects that correlate with the theme of the Elementary Studio each session. The Projects will be shorter & less demanding in work load, and intended to get the kids engaged in group projects that teach real life concepts.
What's Your Code?
Learners will create and implement expectations and procedures for their studio. They will learn why its important to keep their space clean and organized. Learners will discuss why their family time is important, why its important to have contributing members of the community such as: Fire-Fighters, EMT, Police, various City workers, trash workers, and trade workers.
Becoming The CEO of Your Own Life
Learners will make small vision boards, and learn what it means to set a goal. They will explore their hobbies and how their hobbies may correlate to a career one day. They will learn about money, how to make and follow a schedule or routine.
Speech, Debate & Logic
Big Concept for Small Humans! We promise to keep it light and explore the different holiday traditions around the world and what makes our country different from others! Learners will discuss why they would or would not like to visit the various places discussed, and share what their family traditions are or what traditions they would like to create.
Health = Wealth
Learners will discuss the importance of the different food groups, the purpose of proteins, carbs, fats and why it is important to eat healthy food. They will learn why exercise is important for their bodies and engage in some basic yoga activities with trained coaches. Leaners will make some basic recipes and talk about their food habits, where their food comes from and how it gets to their dinner table.
Seeking Sovereignty
Learners will learn the basics of gardening, how different plants grown, what kinds of foods they can grow and how they can help feed their families. Learners will build a DIY bird feeder, attempt to build a eco-friendly shelter, take nature walks, and learn explore life cycles of the animals that provide us food.
Shark Tank
Learners will discuss what an invention is. They will create bridges using materials of their choice learn the basics of play dough making, jewelry making, cardboard creations, and engage in a challenge to build the biggest structure using toothpicks and marshmallows. Learners will be given the option to create their own invention or product to share with their families at the end of the session.
